MeetingBar

Free meeting reminder for Mac that shows your next call in the menu bar and joins it in one click.

Try App

MeetingBar is a menu bar app for Mac that shows your current or next meeting and joins it with one click. It finds the meeting link inside the calendar event, so you do not have to open the invite.

It works with the macOS Calendar app, which covers iCloud, Google, Exchange, Office 365 and other accounts, or it can connect to Google Calendar directly. More than 50 meeting services are recognised, including Google Meet, Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Webex, Discord, Jitsi, FaceTime and Slack Huddle. The menu bar can show the title, time or a countdown, and the menu lists events for today and tomorrow.

A global keyboard shortcut joins the nearest meeting. You can get notifications or a full-screen reminder before a call, filter out all-day, declined or tentative events, bookmark recurring meetings, create an ad-hoc meeting, and open links in a chosen browser or native app. Shortcuts and AppleScript are supported, and a custom script can run when you join, for example to pause music.

MeetingBar is Apache 2.0 licensed and made by Andrii Leitsius. It does not collect personal data. It needs macOS 12 or later and is free on the Mac App Store and GitHub.

Frequently asked questions

Is MeetingBar free?

Yes. MeetingBar is free on the Mac App Store and on GitHub. You can support the developer through optional in-app purchases, Patreon or Buy Me a Coffee, but nothing is locked behind them.

Is MeetingBar safe and open source?

MeetingBar is open source under the Apache 2.0 licence, with the code on GitHub at leits/MeetingBar. The project states that it does not collect personal data and uses your calendar data only to show meetings and open the right link.

How do I install MeetingBar?

Run brew install --cask meetingbar, get it from the Mac App Store, or download MeetingBar.dmg from the GitHub releases page. On first launch, onboarding asks you to pick a calendar source and your preferences.

What macOS version does MeetingBar need?

MeetingBar requires macOS 12 Monterey or later.

How does MeetingBar compare to Meeter?

Meeter is another menu bar app that gathers upcoming meetings and joins calls in one click, and it has been sold through the Mac App Store and Setapp. MeetingBar does the same core job, supports more than 50 meeting services, and is free and open source.

Can I join my next meeting with a keyboard shortcut?

Yes. Set a global shortcut in MeetingBar's settings, and pressing it from any app joins the nearest meeting that has a link.
