Essential Mac Apps
Alcove
Dynamic Island for your Mac.
Alcove puts a Dynamic Island on the Mac. It shows notifications, Live Activities, and Lock Screen widgets. The site also describes fluid transitions, swipe gestures, and customizable HUDs.
It is a native menu bar app. On macOS Tahoe you can hide that icon from System Settings. The download requires macOS 15 or later.
Alcove is a one-time purchase, and later updates are included. A license works on up to 3 devices at once. You can remove a device from the license tab in settings. A 72-hour trial is on the download page.
The site says Alcove uses private APIs that Apple could change or remove, and the app is sold as is. The privacy policy says it collects no data and no personal information.
