LookAway

LookAway is a native Mac app from Mystical Bits. It reminds you to take screen breaks, and it can nudge you about posture and blinking.

A heads-up appears before a break, with snooze choices and a countdown that follows the cursor. Breaks can pause during screen recording, meetings or calls, video playback, apps you mark for deep focus, and fullscreen games. When a break starts, LookAway Mirror can show the time left on a paired iPhone or iPad.

You can change timers, sounds, backgrounds, and messages. A break can run a Shortcut or an AppleScript when it starts or ends. The app sits in the menu bar and includes keyboard shortcuts.

LookAway requires macOS 13 or later. You pay once and keep the app. A single license covers one Mac, and a personal license covers two. Those include one year of updates, and renewing later is optional. You can keep using the version you already have. It is also on the Mac App Store, Setapp, and Homebrew.
