Loop is a window manager for macOS. You hold a trigger key, then move the cursor or press a second key to move and resize the window you are working in.
With the trigger key held, a radial menu appears around the cursor. Move toward a direction to pick a half, a quarter, a third, maximize or center, and an optional preview shows the new size before you let go. Keybinds pair any key with the trigger key, and Cycles step through several positions when you press the same shortcut again. Stash hides windows at the edge of the screen until you hover there or press a keybind. Loop can also send windows to the next or previous screen and snap them when you drag.
It suits people who want mouse and keyboard window control in one free app. The radial menu and preview can be themed with your own colors, shape, padding and border, and either one can be switched off. Scripts can drive Loop through its loop:// URL scheme, for example open "loop://direction/right" from the shell or AppleScript.
Loop is free and open source under the GPL-3.0 license, developed by Kai Azim. It needs macOS 13 or later. Install it with Homebrew or download the zip from the GitHub releases page. A built-in updater keeps it current.

What macOS version does Loop need?
Loop needs macOS 13 Ventura or later.
How does Loop compare to Moom?
Moom is a paid app from Many Tricks that moves windows through a pop-up palette and can save layouts for groups of windows. Loop is free and built around a trigger key with a radial menu, keybinds and cycles. If saved multi-window layouts matter most to you, try the Moom trial. If you want a free, open source tool for halves, quarters, thirds and moving windows between screens, Loop covers that.
Can I use Caps Lock as the Loop trigger key?
Yes. In System Settings, open Keyboard, then Keyboard Shortcuts, then Modifier Keys, and remap Caps Lock to Control for each keyboard. Then choose Right Control as the trigger key in Loop's Behavior settings. Apps such as Hyperkey or Karabiner-Elements also work.
