Bitwarden
Free password manager for Mac with unlimited passwords, Touch ID unlock and sync on every device.
Bitwarden is a password manager for Mac from Bitwarden Inc. The desktop app shows your whole vault in its own window and syncs with the browser extensions and the iPhone and Android apps.
Save logins with a name, username, password and website, file them in folders, and use the generator to swap weak passwords for random ones. You can unlock the app with Touch ID, and the browser extensions for Safari, Chrome and Firefox can use the desktop app for biometric unlock. Up to five accounts can stay signed in at once.
The free plan includes unlimited passwords on unlimited devices, passkey management, the password generator and Bitwarden Send. Premium costs $19.80 a year and adds a built-in TOTP authenticator, 5 GB of encrypted file attachments, emergency access and vault health reports. Families costs $47.88 a year for six users.
The vault is end-to-end encrypted, and Bitwarden publishes the results of its third-party security audits. The client code is GPL-3.0, with some business features under the Bitwarden License, and the server code is public too. The Mac app needs macOS 12 or later and ships as a universal build.
