Extendable keyboard launcher for Mac.
Raycast is a keyboard launcher for macOS. From one window you can open apps and files, keep a clipboard history, expand snippets, save quicklinks, calculate, check a calendar, manage windows, and write notes.
The free plan includes those built-in tools and the public extensions in the Raycast Store. Extensions reach services such as GitHub, Jira, Slack, and Notion without opening each app. Script commands and extensions built with the Raycast API can be added on top.
Raycast Pro is a subscription. It adds Raycast AI, cloud sync, custom themes, unlimited notes, and unlimited clipboard history. Eligible new accounts can start a free Pro trial. AI can be turned off in Settings.
Sensitive data stays on the Mac, and extension credentials are stored in the Keychain. A web account is optional. Raycast also offers an iOS app and a Windows public beta. On a Mac, install it from raycast.com or with Homebrew.

Is Raycast free?
Yes. The free plan is for ongoing personal use, not a trial. It includes clipboard history, snippets, window management, the calculator, and the public extension store. Free clipboard history covers 3 months, and Raycast Notes is limited to 5 notes.
What does Pro include?
Pro is a paid subscription. On raycast.com it starts at $10 per month. It includes Raycast AI, cloud sync, custom themes, unlimited notes, unlimited clipboard history, and custom window commands. Plus and Max are higher tiers with more AI credits.
Does the free plan expire?
No. Raycast says the individual free plan does not expire. A separate free Pro trial is available for eligible new accounts and includes Pro AI models. Advanced models are on Plus and Max, not in that trial.
Where does my data go?
Raycast says sensitive data is encrypted and stored locally. Extension logins use OAuth or a personal access token, and those credentials stay in the Keychain. The company also collects anonymous usage statistics and error reports.
Can I use Raycast at work?
Yes. The free features can be used in an organization. Team plans add shared snippets, quicklinks, and commands. The free Team plan allows up to 30 shared snippets, 30 shared quicklinks, and 5 shared commands.
Is there a student discount?
Verified students can get 50 percent off the Raycast Pro plan through the form on raycast.com.
